Breed History:The Rottweiler, or Rottweiler
Metzgerhund ("butcher’s dog of Rottweil"), originated in Germany.
These dogs were used to herd livestock and pull carts loaded with meat to
market. They descend from ancient Roman drover dogs used to protect and drive
cattle.

Appearance

• Build: Large, strong, and muscular
• Coat: Short, dense, and coarse outer coat
• Color: Always black with clearly defined rust or mahogany markings
• Face: Broad head with a strong jaw, expressive almond-shaped eyes

Temperament
